Boats and Supplies for all Boats - Jons, Duck, Bass,
Pontoons, Catamarans
___________________________________________________
A Jon boat doesn’t need costly
accessorizing.
Oars, cup-holders, fishing gear, compass, landing
net, rope, and anchor will enable a water sport
enthusiast simple, satisfying pleasure.
The Jon I used as a child had a small outboard
motor.
Similarly a
duck
hunting boat doesn’t have to have lots of supplies.
As above, oars, anchor, rope, cup holders,
perhaps a small outboard motor and compass will outfit
the boat.
The main and most costly supplies will consist of the
hunting gear.
A
bass hunting boat
will have all the supplies above.
Some may opt for some technological equipment,
such as a wireless panning camera with a 7” black and
white monitor allowing stable and smooth viewing with a
push of a button on the wireless or wired handheld
control unit.
You can pan left or right using directional
buttons.
On-screen navigation points show you exactly what
direction the camera is pointed.
This camera has infrared underwater lighting, 65
ft. of cable to reach deep water, and a 12 volt
rechargeable battery.
Perhaps more optional
equipment than needed for a simple Jon or duck boat
would be a boat cover, a radio, a boat trailer with its
array of winches, jacks, etc.
Really, for any boating, emergency equipment
should be on hand.
That would certainly include life jackets, an
emergency kit, and perhaps flares or a horn to attract
attention if an accident occurs.
There’s an air horn that’s available that can be
filled with a bicycle pump, air compressor, or with a
service station’s air pump.
One charge puts out more than 40 blasts of sound
at 115db.
This handy emergency piece of equipment meets all Coast
Guard regulations and fits in a drink holder.
It uses no chemicals or batteries.
Pontoon and catamaran
boats will be rigged up for whatever use they’re being
put to.
On-line I saw some catamarans that were basically
yachts. The
supplies to operate something like that would generate
lots more space than is available in this short article.
But anyone purchasing something that elaborate
would obviously research their purchase and get lots of
advice. The
smaller, recreational types of these vessels may require
a sail and its rigging, if it’s a
sailing catamaran.
Both pontoons and catamarans will be outfitted
with some of what the earlier boats mentioned have on
board - like anchors, any fishing items if that’s going
to be done off the pontoon, motor, emergency kit and
safety items, like a flare or horn.
